Overview
For this workshop, four different benchmarking datasets have been organized. These datasets have been selected based on characteristics such as geometric and hydrodynamic complexity, types of entrained debris, and number of entrained debris.
All participating modelers should complete at least Benchmark Problem #1 or Benchmark Problem #2. Simulation of other problems, while strongly encouraged, is optional.
Information about the individual benchmark problems can be found by using the links to the left. Also, the data for ALL problems can be downloaded in a single zip file here.
Updates
March 11: BM#3 general description, and new BM#4 added to the website. Full BM#3 data should be posted by March 16. The BM#4 has been posted by Nils Goseberg and his research collaborators. BM#4 represents a case with strong debris-obstacle-fluid interaction, and also includes force time histories on the debris.
March 13: BM#1 Data has been updated. There was a timing issue with the WG2 and WG6 data - they were shifted forward in time by ~0.7 seconds. Updated problem and simulation data have been added to the website. The change is in the "WG2_6.txt" file; all other benchmark problem data remains the same.
March 20: BM#3 Data is posted.
